Sound therapy is a form of vibrational therapy that works by applying harmonic frequencies that resonate with different parts of the body to bring them back in to balance.
It has been practised for thousands of years to realign the body’s vibrations and restore balance and health.
Sound therapy can be used to:
- Treat depression, stress and anxiety.
- Improve the immune system.
- Stimulate circulation.
- Reduce inflammation.
The science behind sound therapy looks at frequencies. Every living thing has its own unique frequency, from an organ in your body to your own thoughts and feelings. When something goes wrong it means that the frequency has become disrupted and sound therapy can rebalance those frequencies by using different tones.
The brain produces different types of electrical patterns known as brainwaves which are measured in hertz (Hz), or cycles per second. Brainwave frequency determines what state we’re in, from deep sleep to vigorous activity. Over time, sound therapy can change the pattern of brainwaves and certain types of music can cause the body to release dopamine which is the hormone responsible for feelings of pleasure and satisfaction.
Different musical notes are connected to the different chakras in the body and with the use of instruments such as crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, chimes, drums and bells the chakras can also be realigned.
Consciousness is constantly changing as we respond to our environment so regular treatments may be required to keep them spinning freely.
Sound therapy can take place as a one to one session or as a group session.
One to One
After a consultation to find out the clients requirements and specifically what they need to work on, a decision on which instruments to be used will be made. This might include crystal singing bowls, drumming, tuning forks and chimes amongst others and whether a full chakra balance is needed of if focus should be on a particular area. This will also determine which musical notes and frequencies are needed for the healing.
The client will then relax as the healing sounds wash over them.
60 minutes
10 minute consultation
45 minutes sound healing
5 minutes post treatment grounding
Group Sound Bath
Sound baths are a combination of mediation and sound healing where the participants will lie comfortably on yoga mats and bathe the healing frequencies.
Group sessions may be tailored to different themes.
Keep an eye on the events page to see when/where events are being hosted.
I can be booked for bespoke group sessions at request.
Instruments
Crystal Singing Bowls
Crystal singing bowls are set from pure crushed quartz crystal.
Our bodies have a similarity to quartz. On a molecular level, our cells contains silica, which balances our electromagnetic energies. Crystal generates and magnifies the transmission of tones. When the sound changes the brainwaves, you go into a meditative state, even an altered state of consciousness. This can cause the brain to release different hormones and neuro-chemicals too.

Every cell in the body has a geometric crystalline structure. This is why our body resonates so deeply with the frequencies of quartz crystals. Different notes from the bowls have the ability to open, heal, balance and align the chakras. It is also believed that quartz crystals have the ability to balance a persons electromagnetic field during singing bowl meditation.
Koshi Chimes
Create overtones which create a massage like effect on the body.

They promote inner peace, harmony, attract positive energy, reduce stress, relieve trauma and anxiety and help with insomnia.
Tuning Forks
Tuning forks are yet another part of sound therapy, frequency therapy and vibrational therapy. They are considered a type of resonator, which is an instrument that produces a sound without the use of strings or membranes.
When the fork is struck and held by its base or stem over certain areas of the body or chakras, it offers healing frequencies. Tuning forks create what’s called a “pure sound” with a specific amount of vibrations per second.

When we use tuning forks, we work with the body’s meridian system, similar to acupuncture. The frequency breaks up blockages in our energy field, allowing the body to heal and function more effectively.
In terms of emotions, layers of tension can build up when we experience stress and trauma. These vibrations become so dense that they manifest physically in our bodies as pain and illness. Repressed emotions also contribute. Using tuning forks and other vibrational therapies can release this stuck energy.
